pre release image - fall 2014

ONE our Imogene Mirror is made of white washed wood and a calm neutral accent with loads of style for $188.  TWO the Margot Globe Lantern is fabulous with both a candle inside or some flowers.  We’re gonna love using it this fall to fill with acorns and pinecones! $48 THREE our Rosey Preserved Boxwood topiaries are real, preserved greenery and will look gorgeous from fall into winter.  the small is $44 and medium is $48.  FOUR Let’s Have Another!! This simple lucite tray has a gold glitter message urging friends to, well, have another! $34.  FIVE this simple white washed stool or side table comes dipped in gorgeous silver leaf to give it an extra does of cool for $220.  SIX my absolute favorite piece from the new collection is our Claudia Silver Weave bench.  It’s perfect for an entryway, the foot of the bed, or even as a coffee table.  The price is just right at $368.

We keep getting closer and closer to the full launch of our Grandiflora Fall 2014 Collection with each passing day!  Today, I wanted to share with you guys a few of the things I’m really excited about!  Not only will we keep piling on more new peeks as we get closer to the launch (follow on insta @shopgrandiflora for other updates) but we’ll also continue to carry some of what I consider to be our ‘Signature Collection’ from last holiday. Have a good one, guys!

ONE how cute are these diamond paperclips from Oh Hello Friend? Even more cute is the owner of the shop, Danni, who I am so excited to see this weekend while I’m in LA.  The clips are $3.25 for 10. TWO I rose with double my shine today to get on a plane to Cali!  I could have still used this darling ‘Rise with double shine’ art from belles and ghosts, however, to act as a kind reminder at 4:30am, ouch! Prints range from $8 – $25. THREE I love minimal keychains and this natural leather key fob is no exception. $12 from Scout & Lilly.  FOUR I spent hours last weekend scouring the web for bathroom vanities that would work in our super tiny bathroom.  (this is how I spend saturday mornings while watching HGTV). This rustic vanity is small on size, but look how gorg!! $930 (with free shipping!) from Decor Planet. FIVE This fall, I’m looking to upgrade my charger situation for all of my holiday entertaining and these classic white chargers have a minimal farmy vibe which I love! $30 for 4 from Jay Companies. SIX gold and glass vases so chic and super well priced at $9 and $12 from H&M Home.

I’m in the air as we speak and I am looking forward to 4 uninterrupted hours of peace! Once I touch down in LA, I’ll have to hit the ground running to get ready for my Pre-EMMY party where I’ll be showcasing Grandiflora to media, press, and celebs. As soon as I arrive, I need to source fixtures for tomorrow’s show, the faux walls that I use for my booth, and all of the props that I couldn’t shove into my suitcase.

I will admit, this will be my first time hanging out in LA… SO if you have any recommendations of things I should do or see, hit me up!

ALSO!  If you want to follow along with the Emmy Party, follow Grandiflora on Instagram at @shopgrandiflora!  I look forward to sharing with you all!!

fall shopping favorites

ONE a gorgeous handmade porcelain mug with the most darling braided handle. From KinaCeramicDesign out of the UK and is a treat at $35, but would make a lavish gift in a set. TWO I definitely have a thing for campaign stools done well.  This leather seated version from Serena & Lily would look amazing as extra seating in a living room. (think: opposite the sofa and coffee table). $795 each. THREE fall is coming and this cozy handwoven blanket looks like the perfect purchase for the season. It’s organic, undyed natural sheeps wool and looks beautiful unfolded too! $144 seems steep, but take it from me, pure sheep wool ages so so well and just gets softer with time. FOUR I’m always looking for a stylish laptop bag and this one is perfect.  The slim profile means it can be carried with another bag, or just slip a card case inside and it’s all you need. I especially love the small little monogram hit! $175 from Mark & Graham. FIVE drop everything you’re doing and look at this flattened hexagon mirror. It’s the epitome of beautiful, clean, minimal and trend-right design and a great price at $160. Take a look at some of the other beautiful shapes offered by Silicate Studio as well. SIX this is the tufted sofa I used as a prop in my photoshoot last week and I wish I could have kept it! It was a wonderful size for a small space and had major style.

Guys, I smelled fall this morning. It’s coming and I think it’s coming soon.  Me and my totally nerdy biology background informed Matt that the ‘fall smell’ was actually the smell of decaying plant matter, but he said (and I agreed) that we still love it.  It’s a crisp and sunny 54 degrees here and I’m cozied up with Perry enjoying a hot coffee and just reveling in all of the fall that is to come. I spent this past Monday brainstorming and planning out the fall editorial calendar and I have to tell you that it’s going to be great! I literally can’t want to get started and I hope you guys are ready!

I know a ton of you had little ones headed off to school this week, so I’m sure it’s been stressful and wonderful all at once, I hope your weekend is fabulous and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

Friday Faves 8.8

ONE pomelo soap that smells like summer in the shower is just $6 from World Market. TWO look familiar?  Darby Smart and I released a DIY box of my cane pillow!  Shop the pillow for just $24 or see the original post.  THREE end of summer is the best time to buy accessories like these modern slatted malibu lanterns from z gallerie going for between $10-$20!  What a steal! FOUR I am so excited for some of the new Grandiflora pieces!  We’re shooting the fall/winter photos today, but here is a sneak peek at the cutest boxwood topiary coming in just 3 short weeks (launches Sept 2nd). FIVE there is still a lot of summer left in me.  This season’s sweet paul mag is still offering up loads of recipe, party, and overall gorgeous inspiration.  Snag one before they’re gone!

Kiddos are headed back to school, but I still have a lot of summer left in me. I am going to do my absolute best to relish in it for the next few weeks.  I’ve got a crazy hectic day ahead of me shooting our fall/winter collections for Grandiflora and I am SO excited, but of course a little nervous hoping everything goes smoothly! I’ll be back here on Monday to share photos from the shoot!  In the meantime, have a FABULOUS weekend!

ONE the most adorable brass door knockers in the letter of your choice are just $30 each from Anthropologie. TWO back to school time is my favorite and although I’m not headed to the classroom, I might still splurge on this canvas and leather backpack for travel or just around town. $78 from Bag Do Ri. THREE this rattan side table looks like it would be so versatile! I like how boho it looks with fave #6. The bonus is that it’s on sale for $179 down from $299! FOUR I’ve been eyeing this British Tan clutch by Claire Vivier for a while and now with fall looming, I’m considering it’s $220 price tag more and more.  The navy, camel, and cream are such a classic fall combo… I feel like it would go with everything! FIVE a set of 18K gold eclectic geo bangles are just so darn cool. $85 for a set of 3 from theForma. SIX This diamond stripe rug is seriously inspiring me right now.  I love how simple it is while still exuding some serious style.  And it’s just $24 from Urban Outfitters!

Is it August already? Where in the world did July go? I feel like that every month. I always tend to veer toward warmer colors towards the end of the summer and early fall, like a combo between summer sun and harvest. I am going to try basking in that aforementioned summer sun for a while this weekend and finish up my most recent book… What’s on your weekend agenda?

ONE These celestial chambray napkins from Leif have me seeing stars (and that’s a good thing!) $44 for a set of four. TWO this gold turtle acts as sculptural art exclusively until you find out that it’s also a little box. $65 from CB2. THREE I’m smitten with these hand painted wallets and clutches from My A La Mode. This style is just $36! FOUR I’ve loved this studio style desk lamp from Target for a while.  They’d be adorable bedside tables and at just $30 each, they’re a steal! FIVE I stumbled across this campaign style desk at Land of Nod which isn’t totally a new design idea, but the shocking $399 price tag is!  We should all jump on this! SIX some good aqua milk glass votives are perfect for cool beachy nights. $24 each from Terrain.

Am I happy it’s Friday or what?  It’s been a bit of a rough week over here (hence the radio silence yesterday).  I’ve been working a freelance job the majority of the week in addition to my regular plethora of work and then had loads of Grandiflora orders (because of a recent REAL SIMPLE feature, which I’m still kind of freaking out about), so there has been lots of late night packing, shipping, and blogging.

This weekend, we’re having a garage sale!  I’m excited to unload some old stuff and make a few bones in the process. What are you up to this wonderful July weekend?

ONE hand stamped ceramic bowls straight from Portugal and for a surprisingly low cost.  A set of four of these black and white beauties are just $32 from West Elm. TWO the only thing more cute than these dachshund bookends will be how they look in your house! They’re just $29 from Z Gallerie. THREE a pretty painted floral tray will take you from summer into fall and beyond. $34 from World market. FOUR need a hand with that? the Viv brushed gold wall hooks are a beautiful statement while being fiercely functional. $38 from Grandiflora. FIVE wine just tastes better when topped with a beautiful stopper.  These golden brass gem stoppers are just the right bit of glam. SIX I’ve always loved these crosshatch baskets! two sizes to choose from and loads of ways to use them starting at $15.

Happy Friday guys!  This week has gone by so fast for me.  I was kept super busy shooting a video for Monday (stay tuned!) and with several client meetings, a concert, and a couple dinners with friends. Whew! I’ll be taking the weekend to relax and maybe do a bit of window shopping at the mall just to get out from behind the desk a bit and see what’s new out there.

What is on your agenda this weekend?  Are you relaxing, or getting after something great?

Friday faves 7.11

ONE need to find your way?  This gilded twinkle star looks much like a north star to me – a very elegant, strong take on the starburst we’re seeing in decor. $118 from Plaid Fox. TWO ceramic and driftwood spoons are each handmade of local driftwood from The Owl Perch in Vermont. $25 each. THREE grazie! After spending the last week reading the newest Dan Brown book which takes place in the Italian city of Florence, I’ve found myself wanting to immerse myself in Italian. Grazie porcelain sign from Waiting on Martha for $16. FOUR a little wood-legged stool is simple, but elegant – perfect for slipping on your shoes before you slip out of the door. The Algoma small stool is just $75 from Plaid Fox. FIVE faceted wooden bangles painted in subtle mint are a total fave! $45 from Little Lamb Craft. SIX Do What Matters (forget the rest) are wise words to remember.  Make the remembering easy by hanging this gold foil art on your wall.  $20 from Design Darling Boutique.

Happy Friday, guys!  We’re already midway into July and summer seems to be moving too quickly.  Being on the road or in the air for the past five weekends have left me really craving some quality at-home time.  I feel like I haven’t seen my friends in forever, so I’m eager to see them tonight at the Summer Movie Series we’re hosting.

Aside from preparing for the movie tonight, I’ll be taking care of the garden, weeding my flowers, and doing all of the laundry that builds up after a months’ worth of traveling. Anything exciting on your weekend agenda?

ONE we’re offering FREE SHIPPING all day on goodies from Grandiflora and we’re running low on lots of styles!  Snatch something up before the next season launches (like the Marit Mirror – this is our last one! $228). TWO what a cheerful little bunch of juice glasses!  They’re just $22 from Papersource. THREE nothing says summer like a pink bistro table.  It’s just $88, folds up flat, and has available matching chairs! Think Pink at Terrain! FOUR cantaloupe and sun tea sorbet is new at Jeni’s and doesn’t it sound delish? I’m planning a little trip today to try it out.  You can order online if you don’t have a Jeni’s near you! FIVE one of the super classic things I love in life is the mixture of natural vegetable tanned leather with brass.  This dog lead is about as classic as it gets and looks like it could stand up to lots! $68 from Yield. SIX a summery and nautical espadrille print is new in the Note to Self print shop!  $18 for the mini size.

It sure feels summery around here this Friday!  I had an alfresco cocktail hour last night with two friends, then went to a local pub to hear my cousin’s band play.  Tonight we’re heading out for happy hour with friends (a bit of a Friday tradition around here lately) then we’re waking up bright and early tomorrow to drive to Michigan for a big party.  Sunday we’ll be heading back to celebrate my mother’s birthday, so it’s a weekend full of partying!

In the meantime, I’m hoping to get my tomatoes re-staked because they’re outgrowing their current situation and maybe read a little of my book.  Have you read it?  It’s certainly not new, but I am working my way down the list!

What is on your weekend agenda?

ONE the prettiest blue wind chime would be right at home on our back porch. $69 from Dot & Bo. TWO I am so excited for the Poppytalk line for Target!  It launches this weekend and I’ll be there for it! THREE a modern rocking chair from CB2 that doesn’t look the least bit old fashioned and is on sale for $199. FOUR a little pot with clementine lip scrub inside looks almost as pretty as it probably smells! By Sara Happ for $24. FIVE I love that these gorgeous bamboo tumblers are biodegradable.  Don’t they look like ceramic? $24 for a set of four from Terrain. SIX the Joon pillow from Crate & Barrel looks like a mirror print, but is actually embroidery and all for only $17!

Happy Friday!  It’s been a wonderful week here for us.  Matt and I have been working in Hong Kong all week and after a day tomorrow to do some exploring, we’ll be heading back home on Sunday.

Although I’ve been overseas, we haven’t been short of inspiration over here on House of Earnest!  I am still obsessed with the luau party we hosted last week and shared on Wednesday and if you didn’t catch my 5 minute frozen yogurt, check it out too! I love the summery, relaxing vibe of today’s faves and they actually make me a bit homesick to get back to the Ohio summer. Do you ever get homesick while away?

We’ll see you back here on Monday with some peeks of our trip!  Until then, have a fabulous weekend!
