Friday Faves 10.17

ONE a little marble box is subtle, but so stylish! Its from a Danish shop called Stilleben and is about 58 usd. TWO a geo copper pendant is the perfect jolt of cool for any style of space and is £189 from Ruby Roost. THREE this scandinavian cross cushion cover is priced right at just $17 from Emily Beauty. FOUR light cranberry color on these dipped stoneware mugs is just right for the fall transition! $36.40 from Dahlhaus. FIVE what a piece!  The striking texture of this woven bench from Serena and Lily is a statement piece for the more minimal at heart (me). $950.

Greetings from Sunny Islamorada!  I’m busy busy doing flowers for a gorgeous wedding and can’t be happier.  I’ve got my island rhythms playing and the windows open.  We’re arranging up a storm.

This weekend after the flowers are delivered, I’m going to relax.  I know I say this every weekend, but every weekend it doesn’t happen so it moves back onto the to-do list!  I just got this new bookand I’m excited to dig in.  Has anybody read anything by Nesbo?

What’s on the docket for your weekend?

ONE a little french humor iPhone case from Cat Coquillette on Society Six is just what I need! $35. TWO wood grain glazed dinner plates from Anthro are beautiful and so so perfect for fall entertaining! Unfortunately, they’re sold out online, so snoop into your local store! THREE another sconce!  This one is such a pretty mix of reclaimed and classic lines. $123 (with free shipping!) from Arcadian Home. FOUR So many pretty fall invitations on Paperless post!  I’m picking out my ‘friends giving’ invites as we speak. FIVE glazed pottery is such a beautiful thing to collect.  These mugs are $28 each from Recreation Center. SIX knotted Bardia Rug from Anthro is a very textural way to add dimension to a neutral home! $98 for the 2 x 3.

I’m pretty happy it’s Friday!  Last weekend was a total whirlwind in Williamsburg and for the next two weeks I’ll be hunkering down and working on florals for a few weddings (one of which is in Florida) so it will be very busy.  This weekend is the calm before the storm, so to speak, so I’m going to stick around home as much as possible and prepare!

What is on your weekend agenda?

P.S.  I designed a full outdoor dinner party for The Home Depot and it’s LIVE TODAY!  Check it out here!

ONE gorgeous handmade, organic chambray tea towels are just rustic enough, but would work well in a modern home too! They’re $15 for a set of two from Zinc Door.  TWO the versatility of this cage pendant is what drew me to it.  It could be quite modern, farmhouse, or totally classic.  What a winner at just $147! THREE there almost aren’t words for this cane chair!  how wonderful is the exploded cane with the curvy frame? I’m in chair love. At $499, this would make a great statement chair in the living room or office! FOUR ceramic espresso cups are darling and would double nicely as sauce bowls or bud vases!  They’re $29 each (eep!) but are lovingly handmade by Free Folding out of Israel. FIVE A garden stool is always the perfect extra seating or side table for small spaces.  This one is jazzed up with a gold finish, but it’s honeycomb pattern make it down to earth. $395 from Horchow. SIX little message candles from Illume are too cute and are the ideal token to give to someone you’re thinking about, $11.25.

It has been a gorgeous fall week here in Ohio. The leaves are turning, the sky is still bright, and I’ve been squeezing in a lot of outdoor time! This weekend, I am SO excited to head to Williamsburg and enjoy fall in a quaint historic village.  I have never been, so I can’t wait to see all of the history and beauty that I’m sure they have to offer (especially this time of year).  It should be warm enough to walk around but cool enough to be cozy!

I’ll be posting about it here on Monday, so get ready!

ONE I love this wall sconce for the simplicity of the design and the seeded glass.  I want to use a pair in my bathroom above the mirror! $105 each from Lamps.com. TWO someone outbid me on the faux trees I wanted from EBTH.com, so I’m looking into alternate options.  I’m drawn this french market olive tree from Wayfair, although at $199, I think I also might have a way to DIY one (stay tuned!). THREE I dip, you dip, we dip! Dipped mugs are cool without being kitschy! $28 each from Poketo. FOUR I think this set of brass candleholders are very classic and could be a mainstay on the dining table. $12-$20 from Crate and Barrel. FIVE I love pretty much everything in the new Mark & Graham catalog, but these monogrammed leather gloves are topping my wish list! I love the moody aqua color!! SIX A printed melamine tray is perfect for entertaining since it’s dishwasher safe! Indian Lace tray from Nicole Porter Designs for $36.

Happy **FIRST FALL** Friday guys!  It’s been a long and busy week over here and I’m so excited it’s the weekend!  I have a big launch party tonight for the Thread flagship store that is opening and it’s the first store to carry my line, Grandiflora Home + Decor!  Exciting, huh?

Aside from the party, I’m going to be sticking close to home working on a couple of big upcoming projects, but will try to take some time to soak in some of the warm fall weather and eat all the honey crisp apples I can stomach.

What is on your first fall weekend agenda?

ONE vintage Indian chopping bowls are new in the shop and I’ve loved styling mine up (because I had to keep one!) $148 from Grandiflora Home + Decor. TWO antique porcelain tea set looks precious for fall tea!  $48 from Milly’s Collection. THREE Nate Berkus’ new collection for Target has wonderful stylish neutrals, including this ‘peaks’ throw for $29. FIVE I love elephants, so these cute Jonathan Adler for JCPenny elephant bookends are right up my alley!  They’re subtle but stylish and are on sale for $38.

Happy Friday! It’s been a busy and wonderful week for us!  Today we’re taking our entire Grandiflora line to the first store that will be selling our designs here in Columbus!  It’s an exciting day and a big step for our business!

ONE  The Citizenry is a new-to-me shop which has lovely neutral pieces from around the world.  This grey geo wool pillow is calling my name!  $95. TWO It’s funny that I like dressers so much, because we don’t even have one in our house. I think this metal rimmed chest from World Market would make a great addition to a family room or dining room for additional storage, and I love that little shelf on the bottom!  $549. THREE bees please!  the cutest bee print dopp kit is just $24(ish) from Jenna Rose Handmade. FOUR I hate when super specific seasonal decor is expensive, so these pretty ‘dia de los muertos’ plates from Crate and Barrel had me sold at their $4 price tag. FIVE another one from the Citizenry!  I love this simple black and white wool rug made by artisans in Argentina!  It’s a bit pricey at $475 for a 3 x 5, but looks like it would be a wonderful quality piece to add style for years to come! SIX if anyone is as obsessed with the fall or with Harry Potter as I am, you’re gonna love a little butter beer!  This recipe calls for Rum extract, which I will most definitely sub out for actual Rum. Wouldn’t this be so fun for a Harry Potter movie night?

Fall is totally in the air and I am ushering it in with open arms!  We are in Chicago this weekend where it is forecasted to be around 60 the whole time – perfect in my mind.  I can’t wait to really amp up the fall posts and get you all ready for the season of harvests, apples, pumpkins, leaves, and spice!

This week we have a $250 GIVEAWAY going on!  Enter at the bottom of yesterday’s post!

Have a fabulous September weekend, guys!

ONE talk about obsessed.  I saw these raised polka dot towels in my local West Elm and although they were out, I immediately ordered online.  They’re $24 each (which is a bit pricey for towels) so I bought two and will use them as the display/hand drying towels in my bathroom. TWO holy sconce! The geo sconces are simple, gorgeous, and on sale from Wisteria!  $174 for the set of four. THREE an antique dough bowl which is (surprise!) an upcoming Grandiflora item! Get emails with our new items by signing up here! FOUR I don’t know what I love more, the color or the scent of this ‘Woods’ scented candle from Sydney Hale, $30. FIVE it’s black and white which automatically draws my attention, but the buffalo check on this plaid blanket is totally on trend for fall and would be cute throughout the entire holiday season.  It’s 100% wool, so it’s worth it’s $120 price tag. SIX put a ring on it… Moose head ring holder is a darling decor object for fall and would also be a wonderful holiday gift (let’s get ahead this year!).  It’s just $8 from Z Gallerie.

It was a short week, but it sure didn’t feel like it to me!  I did the flowers for a wedding this past weekend which is always a lot of work, but this one was amazing!  I made 30 feet of eucalyptus garland for the altar area and for down the center of the head table!  I’ll be sharing more photos soon, so stay tuned for those!

This weekend, I will be headed to an Ohio State football game tomorrow (I’m excited!) and will be cleaning up around the house a bit. A weekend in LA followed by a weekend doing wedding flowers means my house is a wreck.

What is on your agenda?

pre release image - fall 2014

ONE our Imogene Mirror is made of white washed wood and a calm neutral accent with loads of style for $188.  TWO the Margot Globe Lantern is fabulous with both a candle inside or some flowers.  We’re gonna love using it this fall to fill with acorns and pinecones! $48 THREE our Rosey Preserved Boxwood topiaries are real, preserved greenery and will look gorgeous from fall into winter.  the small is $44 and medium is $48.  FOUR Let’s Have Another!! This simple lucite tray has a gold glitter message urging friends to, well, have another! $34.  FIVE this simple white washed stool or side table comes dipped in gorgeous silver leaf to give it an extra does of cool for $220.  SIX my absolute favorite piece from the new collection is our Claudia Silver Weave bench.  It’s perfect for an entryway, the foot of the bed, or even as a coffee table.  The price is just right at $368.

ONE how cute are these diamond paperclips from Oh Hello Friend? Even more cute is the owner of the shop, Danni, who I am so excited to see this weekend while I’m in LA.  The clips are $3.25 for 10. TWO I rose with double my shine today to get on a plane to Cali!  I could have still used this darling ‘Rise with double shine’ art from belles and ghosts, however, to act as a kind reminder at 4:30am, ouch! Prints range from $8 – $25. THREE I love minimal keychains and this natural leather key fob is no exception. $12 from Scout & Lilly.  FOUR I spent hours last weekend scouring the web for bathroom vanities that would work in our super tiny bathroom.  (this is how I spend saturday mornings while watching HGTV). This rustic vanity is small on size, but look how gorg!! $930 (with free shipping!) from Decor Planet. FIVE This fall, I’m looking to upgrade my charger situation for all of my holiday entertaining and these classic white chargers have a minimal farmy vibe which I love! $30 for 4 from Jay Companies. SIX gold and glass vases so chic and super well priced at $9 and $12 from H&M Home.

I’m in the air as we speak and I am looking forward to 4 uninterrupted hours of peace! Once I touch down in LA, I’ll have to hit the ground running to get ready for my Pre-EMMY party where I’ll be showcasing Grandiflora to media, press, and celebs. As soon as I arrive, I need to source fixtures for tomorrow’s show, the faux walls that I use for my booth, and all of the props that I couldn’t shove into my suitcase.

I will admit, this will be my first time hanging out in LA… SO if you have any recommendations of things I should do or see, hit me up!

ALSO!  If you want to follow along with the Emmy Party, follow Grandiflora on Instagram at @shopgrandiflora!  I look forward to sharing with you all!!

Friday Faves 8.15

fall shopping favorites

ONE a gorgeous handmade porcelain mug with the most darling braided handle. From KinaCeramicDesign out of the UK and is a treat at $35, but would make a lavish gift in a set. TWO I definitely have a thing for campaign stools done well.  This leather seated version from Serena & Lily would look amazing as extra seating in a living room. (think: opposite the sofa and coffee table). $795 each. THREE fall is coming and this cozy handwoven blanket looks like the perfect purchase for the season. It’s organic, undyed natural sheeps wool and looks beautiful unfolded too! $144 seems steep, but take it from me, pure sheep wool ages so so well and just gets softer with time. FOUR I’m always looking for a stylish laptop bag and this one is perfect.  The slim profile means it can be carried with another bag, or just slip a card case inside and it’s all you need. I especially love the small little monogram hit! $175 from Mark & Graham. FIVE drop everything you’re doing and look at this flattened hexagon mirror. It’s the epitome of beautiful, clean, minimal and trend-right design and a great price at $160. Take a look at some of the other beautiful shapes offered by Silicate Studio as well. SIX this is the tufted sofa I used as a prop in my photoshoot last week and I wish I could have kept it! It was a wonderful size for a small space and had major style.

Guys, I smelled fall this morning. It’s coming and I think it’s coming soon.  Me and my totally nerdy biology background informed Matt that the ‘fall smell’ was actually the smell of decaying plant matter, but he said (and I agreed) that we still love it.  It’s a crisp and sunny 54 degrees here and I’m cozied up with Perry enjoying a hot coffee and just reveling in all of the fall that is to come. I spent this past Monday brainstorming and planning out the fall editorial calendar and I have to tell you that it’s going to be great! I literally can’t want to get started and I hope you guys are ready!

I know a ton of you had little ones headed off to school this week, so I’m sure it’s been stressful and wonderful all at once, I hope your weekend is fabulous and I’ll see you back here on Monday!
