Friday Faves 5.24

friday faves 5.24

ONE pop open some cold brews in style with an understated, but awesome bottle opener that is just $7 from CB2. TWO literally, one of my favorite things of all time. Not just this friday… all time. Cotton Dhurrie zig zag rug with sizes starting at $195 from Serena and Lily. THREE go all of the places on your list this summer with the linen cosmetic bags from Mark and Graham. They have they best monogram selections and start at just $15. FOUR heath ceramics has long been one of my favorite sites to go and oogle at beautiful things.  This serving bowl in their ‘Alabama Chanin’ line is no exception, but is pricey at $180, so maybe just the oogling for now. FIVE I love that this serving tray from Leif is modern, but has a little bit of an antique vibe with the indigo and white pattern. $88  SIX you know when you come across those things that just make you want to throw away your inhibitions with wild abandon?  This stool is that thing.  The Karr Stool is chic, rustic, minimal, and just perfect.  $579 from Room and Board.

I love the mellow, earthy vibe of this week’s faves! It seems so perfect for the weekend that kicks off summer – blue hues, modern touches, and naturally hewn materials just make me feel like taking advantage of the outdoors – opening all of the windows to let my curtains blow up in a breeze or growing some sort of garden (which totally won’t happen because I have a notoriously black thumb).  How does it happen that someone who loves flowers so much can just stink at growing things?  Oh well, we all have our strengths, right?

I am looking forward to heading up to Cleveland this weekend to visit with some friends who just moved up from Dallas, and hopefully be able to relax a bit by being out of my element.  Sometimes doesn’t being at home cause us to see all of the things that should be done and keep us from being able to sit back and relax?  I’m going to ignore the laundry and landscaping (until Monday, at least!).

What is on your agenda?

P.S. I’ll be taking a bit of a Memorial Day break on Monday, but will be back on Tuesday with an awesome giveaway!  (let’s just say one lucky winner’s summer home improvement projects will be supplemented!) wink!

ONE raised pattern, handblown glassware is one of my favorite things.  I use some similar glasses in a lot of styling and people always as about the source.  Although mine were from an outlet, these are very similar and are $12 each from Brooke Farm General Store. TWO How awesome is this rug?  And at just $99, you could afford to play with the splash of color in your home. From Urban Outfitters. THREE walnut dinner plate with pretty blue trim is $48 from Anthropologie.  At that price, I’d just get one or two and use them as serving dishes! FOUR brass animals on parade!  I have the rhino on my living room shelves and love it! $10 each from Target. FIVE this tiered cart is colorful and practical.  I think it would make a wonderful addition to a fun bathroom that is lacking in storage.  $50 from Ikea. SIX hand screen printed goodies from Lauren Alison are all so so pretty.  Take your pick of striking gold or lots of brights. This one is $57.

Happy Friday everyone!  I am happy to have a lot of events lined up (a walk for breast cancer and a house warming party to attend) so it will be busy, but filled with fun.  How about you?

ONE dip dye hanging pendant basket would make a great DIY!  This one is from Serena and Lily and is $195. TWO this shagreen pillow cover is so pretty and comes in four colors – I love it!  $90 from Maresca Textiles. THREE It’s not a secret that I’m obsessed with pretty hand towels and these are no exception.  They’re handwoven, naturally textured, and so subtly pretty. $22 each from Jayson Home. FOUR who doesn’t need a cute little pouch for something.  I like to keep my iphone charger, earphones, and zip drives in one for technology on the go! $20 from Red Envelope. FIVE this little stool is the perfect contrast between dainty and rustic.  It would go wonderfully beside a bathroom tub! $68 from Serena and Lily. SIX  cinco de mayo may be over, but a set of colorful papelitos from AyMujer can be customized for weddings, showers, and every fiesta in between.  These shown as $18 for two sets.

This week has been beautiful around here, which made it a little more relaxing than most weeks.  The sun stayed out until past 8 pm, the green trees are all blooming, it’s just perfect!

I am super eager to take advantage of the wonderful weather for the rest of the weekend also.  I do have some other excitement on my agenda, however.  We’re heading to a local casino to party for Matt’s grandmother’s 93rd birthday (she loves slot machines!) and I’ll try to take in the fun and try my hand and some roulette.

If you’re still up in the air about what to do for Mother’s Day, have an easy tea party with full shopping list and recipes here!  Have fun!

Well, it’s Friday, and I’m on the last connection flight home to Ohio.  I am completely exhausted and kind of embarrassed that I just totally didn’t post yesterday! I had a really strange flight plan back and just was confused about what time it was at home.  Regardless, my planned post for yesterday (a fun giveaway!) will go up next week.

I can’t want to get my hands dirty this weekend and get some DIYs up and running again.  I’ve got a few up my sleeve that I think you’ll love and I am debuting my patio design as part of the Patio Style Challenge on the Home Depot’s website next Wednesday!  In the meantime there are tons of other amazing bloggers sharing their spaces as well.  Head on over to the Apron blog for a good dose of summer style.

See you guys on Monday, Have an amazing Friday and weekend!

It’s been a long week over here in Hong Kong.  Lots of travel, long meetings, and smoggy weather have got me excited for a little weekend R&R.  I plan on exploring Victoria’s peak (which in my twelve times to HK have never visited) and if the sun comes out, getting a little pool time!

I hope you all have great plans!  I’m off for a Friday night drink!

This Friday is going to be amazing.  I have the day off work to prepare for a wedding which I’m doing flowers for tomorrow and I’m preparing for a trip to China (again) for which I leave this Sunday (did you get that?  I am doing a wedding on Saturday and leave for China on Sunday?).  I’m a little stressed, but I have some pretty amazing projects to share with you while I’m in the far east and I’ll also be sharing photos on Instagram and tweeting my adventures.  Are you guys ready?

FIVE I can’t say enough good things about this stool from Serena & Lily.  It’s a great price at $125, it’s versatile, and will probably be my next home purchase. SIX I talked about Illume’s new spring collection a few weeks ago, but this Cactus Verde scent has been wafting through my house all week and I can’t get enough, $26.

I just want to jump right into the Friday faves today. How about you? I’m in a complete nesting mood (as opposed to the party mood or crafting mood – hehe), and I just want to switch around some stuff in my house.  I think I’m going to get some different art going and will post about it next week.  I’m also putting the finishing touches on my patio this weekend and although the whole shebang won’t be posted until it’s debut on the Home Depot Style Challenge, I’ll give you all a few sneak peeks next week!

In addition to those things, I have a meeting on Sunday with Benjamin Lowry to talk about some exciting upcoming projects (super fun) and a mountain of laundry to do (not fun).

What do you guys have on the short list for this beautiful April weekend?

Aside from working on the patio, I am going to try to get a little spring cleaning done so that I can welcome the warmer weather appropriately (maybe that’s why it hasn’t come yet?!).
