Yellow Thistle ‘Pineapple’ Flowers
This is a pretty simple project with just two steps, but I think it is extremely versatile and the stems created can be used in a variety of ways.
The wire can be bent in any which way, individual blooms can be bent into napkin holders or coiled into spiral placecard holders – pictures of which to come upon my return from China…
With just a pair of wire clippers and a glue gun, you can arrive from raw materials, photographed above, to a beautiful finished product.
Choose a variety of dried pom sizes. Natural flowers don’t grow all identical, and you’re creation should follow mother nature’s lead.

The poms are somewhat hollow with multiple holes, just perfect for a wire stem. Place a dollop of hot glue in one of the holes and, working quickly, place one of the stems into the hole.
Brilliant! Done with one, do the same with as many stems or poms as you posses or desire to have. I think a grouping of 12 is perfect.
Next, with sharp wire cutters, cut the bottom of about half the stems a bit shorter to give the arrangement some height dimension. I cut three at 1” and three at 2”.
And Voila! Pretty, simple and made by you!
