Style Splurge: Carrera Marble

To be honest, there aren’t even photos that can truly capture my affinity for carrera marble.  It’s just one of those things that I put on my dream list and hope that one day I have just the perfect use for it in my home.

As some of you know, my husband and I live in this crazy old farm house in hopes of one day building a dream home on the back of the property.  My dream home will consist of LOTS of carrera marble.  There is just no way around it.

…but the dream home isn’t a reality yet, and you won’t find me splurging on carrera countertops in the current house.  That doesn’t mean we can’t have a dose of it right now, however.

I’ve been eyeing this coffee table for the better part of a year, and think it could be the perfect little bit to satiate by carrera appetite.

What are your thoughts?  Do you have white marble anywhere in your home?  It gets a bad rap for functionality, but man, I just don’t care!

Have a fabulous Tuesday, guys!

Hey, provided you take good care of it (like it deserves!) carrera is totally doable. I definitely share your affinity towards it! It will FOR SURE be abundant in my future home!

I’m with you. It’s so beautiful and luxurious and clean.

We gutted our master bathroom and the only things I wanted were carrera marble basket-weave tile (we live in a 1921 Colonial) and a carrera marble vanity top. We got both and it looks fabulous! A friend of mine told me that the bathroom is her dream bathroom. It’s definitely wroth the splurge.

LOVE carrera marble. used it for kitchen backsplash but am also planning to use a piece for the sink vanity in our guest bathroom!

Count me in as a fan as well! It’s the only material I want when we redo our kitchen counters at some point. But like you, I needed something to satiate my own appetite. So we used a carrera look alike for temporary bathroom flooring and sometimes I trick myself into believing I’m standing on the real thing.

We had carrera in the bathroom of our old house and it was a pain to maintain. Our shower was wrapped in it and it was not practical, but oh so pretty to look at. A table top that won’t get wet all the time would be much more practical!

Carrera marble creates the ultimate luxurious experience for the house! I would die to have this in my bathroom or kitchen!

It’s lovely, but I hear it stains easily! I’m sure it will be beautiful, though.

Ah I haven’t caught the drift of the bad rap for it. What do they say? Hard to clean? It’s so gorgeous, I think that coffee table is a great investment.

Hannah – it’s allegedly pretty high maintainence and stains pretty bad. Someone once told me that the spilt some red wine and had a dark stain forever – It totally scared me!

Definitely buy that coffee table at once! It’s beautiful, and will go with everything. I probably wouldn’t get marble for my kitchen counter, as I love making a mess when cooking, but accents of it are a perfect compromise.

I agree- it is so worth the splurge- even if its just for a small spot. It is very high on my wish list!

I so agree with you!! It is beautiful, w/ a little creativity, it could become quite the functional piece! love it! Would be well workth the splurge in my book.
