The Bright Side

I was all reared and ready to get painting my shelves but, like most things in life, Matt reminded me about all of the little aspects of this project that should be figured out before we paint.  Light fixtures were one of those things.

Since my original inspiration drawings, I’ve been really excited to put some swing arm sconces in to the bedroom remodel.  I’m drawn to how antiquely modern they can be – which is kind of the mix I’m going for in this room.  I love these two options above from Arcadian Lighting, although I’m strongly leaning toward the dark rubbed bronze one by Lite Source (plus it’s most cost efficient).

I’m excited that the swing arm wall sconces give me the flexibility to put lights right where I want them, since they plug in!

What are your thoughts?  Can you envision it?

Have a BRIGHT Monday!

*This post is sponsored by Arcadian Lighting, however the point of view is my own.  Aside from bedside wall sconces, they have some pretty amazing pendant lighting too, check them out if you get a chance!

Ah! This is what we need to do in our living room. We have plenty of natural light in the day, but when we return from work, it’s really dark, and there’s no lights in our living room — just our kitchen (it’s a small 1 bedroom condo, so you can get away with it).

But, I’m not that handy to install a light fixture on the ceiling or wall. Floor or table lamp it is… Happy Monday!

I’ve been wanting a pair of those for the bedroom for a while now. I love the matte black and gold!

I love the idea of swing arm sconces as opposed to bedside table lamps! Just make sure you have a fabulous chandelier or ceiling fixture for ambient light!

I’ve been obsessing over swing arm floor lamps lately. You reminded me I need to do a post!

I WISH I could do a fabulous chandy… but we don’t have a/c so a ceiling fan is a must… I haven’t come across too many fabulous statement ceiling fans, but let me know if you do! :)

I really like those because the don’t take up a ton of space on the night stand.
