What’s Your Vice?

This is a question that I ask because we all have them. For some they’re more apparent than others, some are quirks, and some just downright bad habits.

I’m always real good at noticing them in others (my husband, namely), but slow to point out my own.  I thought (especially since mine is very home related) to open up today and admit that I, Erin, leave half consumed cups of coffee everywhere.

My desk on Friday will be topped with five mugs, filled with varying degrees of dried up sludge.  My bedside table might have one or two, and to find one also lingering in the bathroom wouldn’t be unusual. It’s one of those things that I know I do, but I still do it.  Matt jokes about the absence of mugs in the cupboards, or asks how my science experiments are going.  I’m glad he’s kind about it, because I know it’s gross. It’s strange because I’m so particular about certain spots in the house – finding the white sink with food stuck to the side will stop me in my tracks for immediate cleaning, but I don’t blink an eye at my coffee cups.

Tell me, do you have a dirty little habit?  Something you know you do but, for whatever reason, continue?

Have a GREAT Monday out there, guys!

P.S. Lenox has partnered with House of Earnest to giveaway two full 5 pc place settings of their new quatrefoil pattern!  See the full post here for details on how to enter!  It closes tomorrow at midnight, so hurry!

I smiled when I read this post…don’t we all have those little things that drive even us crazy, but we’d never change? I recently added some embroidered items to my shop, which means I’ve been sitting in front of the TV A LOT more than normal. I was watching, for the second night in a row, Bridget Jones Diary. No Oscar contenders here, but still, I LOVE. Silly romantic comedies have definitely been my vice as of late!

Haha! Love that we were just talking about this! I’m the same way, I can point out 500 annoying vices of Brad’s at the drop of a hat! As for me, my dirty little habit is that I fall asleep with all the lights on…all the time. And half the time this happens, I’ll get up and wash my face, brush my teeth, etc. but the other half, I just lie there and tell myself I will…then fall right back asleep!

I do this EXACT same thing. And Joe is also sweet about it. Science experiments… so cute… much nicer way to comment on the green mold, isn’t it? :) Glad to hear others have vices. Clean clothes on the floor is another unfortunate vice of mine.

Oh, man. Where do I begin?! First off, yours makes me laugh, because Michael always says no matter how much coffee he pours me, I leave 1/3. So, yeah, I might be bad at that too.

I have a lot of vices. I think Michael would say my top two include buying stuff and my singular concentration. If I begin doing a task, it’s sort of hard to get my attention – much to his frustration since I’m usually doing some sort of task.

Mine faux pas is…. mugs all over too. One on my night stand, one on my sofa table where I use my laptop, one on the end table where I watch TV, the one that got away from me in the laundry room. BUT with a tea bag in the bottom as I leave the bag in while I drink it. A few have gone through the dishwasher as I failed to look as I’m loading. Ut-Oh

Oooh I LOVE this. I can get our bathroom get a little dirtier than I would like to admit. I always clean it before guests come over but if we haven’t had people over in a while it’s definitely not my proudest spot in the house!

I think I have at least 20 of these. Off the top of my head, I like to “organize” things so that they are no longer findable. Like into oblivion. I apparently always leave truvia packets everywhere (not unlike your coffee situation). Also, nobody laugh, but I still like to hang with my teddy bear from when I was 3. Poor thing has been loved to shreds.

Colleen, my childhood stuffed animal (Mr. Mouse) is in the linen closet. Whenever guests open it, I’m pretty sure they think I’m nuts!

My dirty little habit is pretty similar to yours! Kenny hates it though and is constantly reminding me to take my mugs to the sink. Woops.

I drive my husband crazy with many things… I always leave the garage door open, I leave the lights on when I leave a room, etc. Can’t help it!

Guilty as charged! It’s not just my coffee mugs, it’s my cups of water too. I have four. FOUR half full cups of water on my bedside table. Two coffee mugs in my car and one on my desk that I’m technically still drinking on my desk as I type. I have lots more bad habits but seeing this one made me want to stop and comment. I’m a silent reader and I love your blog. Going to be better about commenting and putting away my coffee cups from now on!

My mug/glass/cup habit is awful. I usually have 5 glasses at my bedside table + multiple coffee mugs sitting around the apartment. I’m actually a very messy person but people don’t always pick up on it because I’m sneaky and like to clean before they arrive :)
